Building

In 1989, a group of dedicated citizens in the Big Bear Valley recognized the unique situation of mountain isolation, and determined needs for emergency response capability to missing aircraft, unexpected disasters, and an Aerospace Education program for the youth of the community. As a result, Big Bear Valley Composite Squadron 6750 was formed and chartered as part of California Wing by CAP National Headquarters. Since its formation, Squadron 6750 has not had a permanent structure in which to meet, conduct business and training exercises, or to use during any unusual occurrence as an emergency services facility.

Big Bear Valley Composite Squadron 6750 is constantly growing to meet the demands of the community it serves. We have designed a building that will augment our growth and service, and enhance our liaison with other emergency services groups. The building will serve as a headquarters for CAP, and will offer space to other emergency groups during any unusual occurrence.

After four years of planning and county permit processing, construction has begun on this most worthy project. We will need continued community support to complete the building and make it operational. All donations can be made through The Friends of The Disaster Center, Inc., which is a 501(c)(3) corporation organized to fund this project.
