BURTON’S READY MIX
HELPS WITH NEW DISASTER CENTER
BIG BEAR LAKE, CA – The new Civil Air
Patrol headquarters building and community emergency services building got some
help from a long time local business, Burton’s Ready Mix. George and Ray Burton will be talking to
their supplier, Mitsubishi, about donating cement to aid in the construction of
the new building at Greenway and Meadow streets on the airport. Burton’s will help with the delivery and
pouring of the foundation.
Burton’s has been operating in the same
location since the 1950’s, when their parents started the business. George and Ray took over in the 1980’s and
have been there for the community ever since.
They have helped with numerous organizations, including Habitat for
Humanity, the Cowboy Poetry event, Old Miner’s Days, the Discovery Center, school youth programs and team
sponsorships, and various charity functions over the years. “It’s important to serve your community when
you can, and we get a lot of satisfaction out of helping”, said George. “The Civil Air Patrol is a good organization,
and they are helping the community with a fully equipped disaster center. We’re glad to be a part of it”.
